frequently asked questions
Who can become a member of the Finnish Soloists’ Association?
The Soloists’ Association may accept as a member any performing artist who is a Finnish citizen or is resident in Finland and whose musical activities the Association deems to be of the highest artistic calibre.
In general, the Association does not accept student members. We encourage students to apply for membership towards the end of their studies, once their CVs include a significant amount of artistic activity outside the confines of educational institutions.
How do I become a member?
Prospective members are asked to send a free-form letter of application complete with an attached, up-to-date CV. The application, complete with all relevant attachments, should be sent via email to jaseneksi(a)solistiyhdistys.fi or, if needs be, by post (see Contact Details).
What benefits does membership of the Finnish Soloists’ Association afford me?
The Association provides its members with numerous performance possibilities throughout the year and offers support with the organisational aspects of producing their own concerts. The Association also looks after the interests of its members and regularly holds a variety of events and concerts related to our own activities.
Who selects performers and programmes for the Association’s own concerts?
The Newsletter provides information about submissions and application deadlines. The Committee makes final programming decisions after assessing all correctly submitted applications.
How can I apply for one of the concerts?
Members are kept up to date about forthcoming concerts series and application deadlines via email. Applications can be submitted electronically.
