DORNIK MANCA, harmonikka
Manca Dornik (b. 1995) is a Slovenian accordionist based in Helsinki (Finland). She recently graduated from the Sibelius Academy from a class of Finnish accordion pioneer prof. Matti Rantanen. In addition to accordion she also studied conducting and composition as minor subjects. Manca has participated in many international competitions in which she has won several first and second places and prizes. She has already played as a soloist with many orchestras. Already in 2015 she received the highest prize for Slovenian students (Prešeren award) for her musical activities.
Manca is an active performer as a soloist and as a chamber musician. She has given many performances and recordings at important international festivals. Throughout her career her dedication has been focused towards intensive collaboration with composers, and she has recorded and premiered several new music works featuring accordion. Her dedication to contemporary music was also awarded with Kranichstein Stipendiumpreis in Darmstadt. Manca has recently recorded her debut album "Elements" with Orpheus Classical Label (NYC, London, Madrid). |
